My my, how the time do fly

Published on August 24, 2006 by in Blogging, Cancer, Family

So… no posts in over two months. Let’s hit the high points: Still cancer-free – had my latest round of CT scans and X-rays this week, everything is looking good. Still married and working on an addition to the family. Another nephew is on the way (18 months ago I had none – now I

Bye Bye Blogger

Published on May 24, 2006 by in Blogging

After four years of using Blogger, it’s time for a change. I’ve switched over to WordPress, since I can host the entire thing on my website, and it’s far more customizable (I particularly like the Categories feature). So now the new address is blog.lanedenson.com – the old address will still get you here as well.

Speaking of the New York Times

Published on May 24, 2006 by in Blogging

In my previous post I referenced a link to the New York Times, which reminded me of the fact that I was actually interviewed by them several years ago for an article on retro-computing. The article is still on their website, and the article is still wrong. Quoting the relevant part: In the early days,

Fortune: "Why Google Scares Bill Gates"

Published on May 5, 2005 by in Blogging

An interesting read… while I’m not part of the “Micro$oft is the DEBIL!!!” crowd, they are at their most productive/interesting when threatened. Netscape lit a fire under them a decade ago, and it looks like it’s now Google’s turn. Technology – Why Google Scares Bill Gates – FORTUNE

Posting for the sake of posting

Well, I haven’t been able to bother with updating the blog lately. I’ve thought about writing about the Terri Schiavo case, but it just makes me so mad I can hardly see straight. My employer’s handling (or lack thereof) has been a big part of my frustration. They give a lot of lip service to

9/11/2002

Published on September 11, 2002 by in Blogging

Personally, I’ll be glad when today is over. The events of 365 days ago have been hashed and rehashed from every conceivable angle, and doubly so over the past month. Is there really anything left to be said? I completely understand the need for people to commemorate the anniversary of tragic events. I have nothing

Catfish

Published on September 3, 2002 by in Blogging, Random

I went with the catfish… and broccoli, and rice. Tasty. So anyway, from time to time people will ask me: “Lane, whatever happened to your website? I visited it all time time – it was my favorite place to go on the web!” (italics = my embellishment) Basically I just got busy doing other things.
