Fin (Part Three)

Vegas So thankfully, my white blood cell count was back up to normal by the time I left for Las Vegas. Otherwise I would’ve had to inject myself with the Neupogen, and that simply wasn’t going to happen. But of course, *something* had to come up while I was on the trip… For whatever reason,

Cancer Story Part 2: Weedkilla

Published on September 4, 2004 by in Cancer

The Circle of Death This time last year, I was on my mom’s couch, feeling as if I had been run over by a truck. Thankfully, it was from the last chemo treatment I would have to endure. Hard to believe it’s been a year since then. On June 16th, 2003 I showed up at

Not just another bum

Published on August 25, 2004 by in Cancer, Music

Ah come on, Adrian, it’s true. I was nobody. But that don’t matter either, you know? ‘Cause I was thinkin’, it really don’t matter if I lose this fight. It really don’t matter if this guy opens my head, either. ‘Cause all I wanna do is go the distance. Nobody’s ever gone the distance with

PARIS (July 25) — Lance Armstrong rode into history Sunday by winning the Tour de France for a record sixth time, an achievement that confirmed him as one of the greatest sportsmen of all time. His sixth crown in six dominant years elevated Armstrong above four champions who won five times. And never in its

Update

Published on July 19, 2004 by in Cancer

Well, I managed to sell my house and get the $$$ I wanted for it. I would have preferred more, obviously, but I’m happy with what I got. Last weekend Mom and I moved a lot of the smaller stuff into my apartment, and Friday the movers are going to get all of the big

May 23, 2003

Published on May 24, 2004 by in Cancer

Yesterday I celebrated my one year cancer anniversary. A somewhat strange event to memorialize, but it’s been a somewhat strange year. History and Hypochondria While I was diagnosed a year ago, the story starts a few years earlier. My dad died after a six year battle with cancer in early 1999. His father died from

On your mark…

Published on May 6, 2004 by in Cancer, Health & Fitness

Well, I’ve found my next race. There is a 5K being held at Opry Mills on Sunday Morning, May 23rd. Even though I’ve barely run since my last 5K over a month ago, I will be there. May 23 will mark the one year anniversary since my cancer diagnosis, and I figure that is about

Six months later…

On August 9th, I posted the following: I’ll be feeling *really* good in six months when I’ve got a few checkups under my belt with good blood test/x-ray/CT scan reports. Oh, and having hair again will be nice as well Well, it’s been six months, and I am indeed feeling really good! Physically, I’m in

Platinum in my veins

Published on July 31, 2003 by in Cancer

Strangely enough, the primary cancer-killing drug I’m taking is a form of platinum… I’d much rather have it on a record hanging on my wall, but I’m just glad it works, however odd. The good news is that after my first cycle of chemo, my AFP tumor marker level was down from 168 to 20

Sometimes “C” isn’t for Cookie

Published on July 13, 2003 by in Cancer

It’s been nearly two months since my last entry, and most people who read this can probably figure out why. I’ve had stupid little things to post here, but it seemed dumb not to address the big issue going on right now. Anyway, on May 23rd I had a tumor removed, which turned out to
