Way Cool Junior

Published on June 9, 2005 by in Entertainment

Maybe it’s just me, but more than once I have experienced the phenomenon of having the same song playing in my head over and over again – except, it’s in a dream. I had “Way Cool Junior” by those musical prodigies, RATT (that one’s for you, Mr. Pickles…), as the soundtrack to multiple dreams last

Audioscrobbler

Trying a new thinger on the site – Audioscrobbler… if you scroll down, on the right side of the page is a list of the last few songs I’ve listened to. It *should* update automatically, and eventually be able to track my listening habits. We’ll see if it works or not.

Long Live the Queen

Published on March 5, 2005 by in Entertainment

I was poking around on Pollstar, when I noticed that there were some tour dates for Queen. They have been one of my favorite bands for nearly 15 years now, ever since I first saw the video for “Innuendo” way back in the spring of 1991. But not six months later, the hopes of ever

It's Franchise Overload, Charlie Brown

Published on December 23, 2004 by in Entertainment

I was watching “A Charlie Brown Christmas” earlier today, probably my favorite Christmas special. What’s funny is that it would never be made today… it’s far too low-key, it has a jazz soundtrack, and they actually have the audacity to mention Jesus. It’s funny how many Christmas shows today have some nebulous message about “the

"Dimebag" Darrell

Published on December 9, 2004 by in Entertainment

I’m surprised that the news has spread so quickly about guitarist “Dimebag” Darrell being shot at a club last night. Being a big fan of his, I took interest, but I didn’t think the mainstream press would care much. At any rate, here’s my Darrell story… In the fall of 1991, I was starting my

Took 'em long enough!

Published on October 27, 2004 by in Entertainment

And the Sox sweep it in four… pretty cool, I must say. Hopefully it won’t take them another 86 years to win the Series. On a slightly related note, Google can be really weird. When I was searching for that image over there —>, one of the pictures it pulled up while searching for “red

The man who was responsible for the definitive portrayal of the definitive superhero died last night… Christopher Reeve, the star of the “Superman” movies whose near-fatal riding accident nine years ago turned him into a worldwide advocate for spinal cord research, died Sunday of heart failure, his publicist said. He was 52. CNN.com

An Expensive December

Published on August 29, 2004 by in Entertainment

I have the feeling a lot of geeks (including myself) are going to be a bit poorer on December 7th… on that day, the Return of the King extended edition DVD will be released, as well as the 10 disc (!!!) Ultimate Matrix box set. That’ll set you back a c-note or more… at least

Ain't gonna be no rematch…

Published on August 27, 2004 by in Entertainment

Well, the audition went well – I thought so, anyway. But considering the guy before me was allowed to play all the way through five songs, and I did one whole song, then just half of two more, that’s a pretty clear indication that they weren’t interested in what they were hearing. I definitely would
